Bembridge has had a RNLI station for nearly 150 years, the present boathouse being completed in 2010. The boathouse at the end of the pier houses a Tamar class lifeboat, which is 16metres long, and capable of speeds of 25 knots. Housed at the building on shore is the smaller D-class, which is more suited to inshore working. The shop & offshore station is open to visitors every day....
