The Bembridge Business Association has introduced a Voucher Scheme offering discounts at some 16 different businesses in the village.
The move follows extensive consultation with membership after identifying the airport and the harbour as two places where there was a need for some form of incentive to attract visitors into the village.
Architect of the scheme, Hon Secretary Martin Pay, arranged a trial at the airport and following some fine tuning, has now arranged its rollout is at the Harbour.<
Said Martin: "Initial feedback indicates that the Voucher Scheme is beginning to show real benefits. The committee will review the process at the end of the summer with a view to deciding whether to renew it for 2005 and in what form."
